Hey everyone out there in Internet land, here is a heads up about the February Introduction to Panel Work class here in my shop in Hastings Ne. Due to a cancellation there is one open spot in this class for February 23-26th. The cost for this class is $800 with lunch, supper and refreshments provided all class days. Each 12 hour class day runs from 8 AM to 8 PM. A free skill building day will be offered before the class starts as a " jump start" to become familiar with the tools and equipment that will be used over the course of the class. You may extend your time at Custom Rides for extras days to work on your own project for an additional fee.
Class size is limited to 4 people so that everyone is actively involved in the project and receives one-on-one instruction. Lunch, dinner, and refreshments are provided each class day. Payment for the class secures your spot in the class. Classes do fill quickly so if there is a specific topic you are interested in, please let me know. Payment needs to be received 3-4 weeks before the start of the class and will accept advance payments for upcoming months. Should you need to reschedule, class fees and enrollment can be transferred to another class. People on the "wait list" will be contacted if a class has an unexpected opening.
Each class begins with a technical instruction on how and why of metalshaping to gain an understanding of why metal reacts the way it does. These classes offer "real" hands-on experiences with exposure to multiple processes to make the same part. You can experience use of different metalshaping machines and get real life tips, techniques, and tricks to use when solving real life metalshaping problems. Tig welding instruction and practice is available for participants. You will be experiencing instruction and work in a functioning commercial metal shop with a " working" professional metalshaper. Class projects are geared for every day panel shaping where panels are patterned and made to fit an actual car.
The free day of skill building before the class gives exposure to a varitey of tools by various manufacturers. Tools designed here at Custom Rides are available for purchase if you find that after using them, they would be a good addition to those tools you currently have. These tools are " purpose built and shop tested" through years of work and refineent within daily use driven by unique 1 off projects which require out of the box thinking and application.
